Many believe that Anne rejected the role as Laurie Strode for John Carpenter's 1978 film, Halloween. Jaime Lee Curtis was cast in its place. Carpenter claims that he was interested in her but she declined. Anne did not recall contact with the name of John Carpenter nor being offered the job. There is a chance that one of Anne's agents declined it on her account without telling her. Glen Larson sent her an preliminary draft of script for a character in 1978's television series Battlestar Galactica. Her initial reaction was to decline the role since the character did not seem robust. Then Glen wrote a new part just for her with the character that was stronger, Sheba. The first 25-page script was read by her, and she immediately endorsed it. It ran for a single season. The actress was in Joyride, a 1977 movie co-starring Desi Arnaz Jr. Melanie Griffith Robert Carradine (son Desi Arnaz Jr. Lucille and Lucille) and alongside Robert Carradine. In 1987 she co-starred alongside Michael Moriarty and The Dark Tower.
