Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe was raised in an ethnically diverse family. Her father is a Nigerian-Swiss, while her mother was English. She was born in the south London Council Estate, and then attended The Brit School aged 14. She pursued acting studies in the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, London. In her time at the school, she performed in a variety of stage productions such as King Henry V's Princess Katherine as well as Wuthering Heights.
Madekwe started her acting career by starring in a movie titled Storm Damage. Since then, she's been making guest appearances in films like Teachers, Doctors Casualty Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe made her debut motion-picture role in the Woody Allen film Cassandra's Dream, opposite Colin Farrell and Ewan McGregor. After this success, Madekwe appeared as Elisha on the BBC Three drama pilot West 10 LDN and was featured for six seasons Trexx as well as Flipside. In 2008, she got Bambi's character on ITV2 Drama series Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Madekwe was in both series 2 and 3. Madekwe was also the lead character in How to lose friends & make people feel alienated that was aired by Sony Pictures Entertainment in 2008. Performance credits for Madekwe include Little Sweet Thing and Flight Path.
Madekwe was officially introduced to her US debut with The Beautiful Life in 2009. The series aired only two episodes at The CW, and was eventually ended. Ashley Davenport, a character in ABC's Revenge drama series was cast as Ashley Davenport. The show premiered in May 2013 and it was announced that Madekwe, who had appeared on the show as a series regular for the previous two seasons would be leaving the show after a guest-appearance in the first episode of the new season. She starred as Tituba on the show Salem from 2014 to 2016. Then, in June of 2012 she married her long-time boyfriend actor Iddo Goldberg. Both of them have been in Secret Diary of a Call Girl. They have also appeared as a couple in Salem.
Ashley Leggat, an actress nominated twice for the Gemini Award, comes from a large Hamilton family. Ashley Leggat was born to Roy and Patty and her other siblings: Brett, Todd and Bram and Rob. Ashley's four brothers, each of them extremely active, took part in hockey in the winters and baseball in the summer months, which means that she grew up playing in baseball and arenas. Ashley never actually walked -she did dance, so when she was two and a half she started Baby Ballet -and she fell in love with. Ashley was addicted to dance immediately. After graduating from the high school she attended, Ashley danced competitively in the top divisions in tap, jazz, ballet pointe, acrobatics musical theatre, lyrical and hip hop. Ashley took home the best soloist prize at each major dance competition, including International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers, 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance, to name just the few.
