
Jessica Ann Simpson Johnson (born 10 July 1980)[1She is an American actress, singer and philanthropist, as well as an entrepreneur. Simpson who was just 17 years old, began her career singing in choirs at church. The singer was signed to Columbia Records in 1997. Her debut studio album, Sweet Kisses (1999) was a huge success, selling two million copies in the United States and saw the commercial huge success of the hit single "I Want to Love You Forever". Simpson changed her look to make her look more mature for her second album Irresistible (2001). The album's title track was her second chart-topping hit on the Billboard Hot 100. The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) have certified it gold. This Skin (2003) was her third studio album, sold 3 million copies in the United States. Simpson was well-known for her relationships with Nick Lachey and her marriage to him. Simpson also appeared on MTV's reality show Newlyweds, Nick and Jessica, between 2003 and 2005. Following the release of her debut Christmas album ReJoyce The Christmas Album (2004), which was certified gold, Simpson made her film debut as Daisy Duke in The Dukes of Hazzard (2005). As the soundtrack for the film, she also composed a cover version of "These Boots Are Made to Walk" In 2006 she released her fifth studio album A Public Affair and appeared in the romantic comedy film Employee of the Month. Simpson was a convert to country music following the release of her sixth album Do You Know (2008). Simpson has also launched The Jessica Simpson Collection, a fashion-focused line that offers 34 categories of merchandise. To date, the company has generated more than $1 billion in revenue and is the most profitable licensed brand for celebrities in history. In 2010, she played in the reality series The Price of Beauty. She also judged fashion designs during Fashion Star's two seasons, which ran from 2012 and 2013. Simpson is married Eric Johnson with whom she has three children.
